To make it in life, all that matters is determination and thinking outside the box. Today we comprehensively bring to light the life and hustle of a young hustler named Orionji Vincent Asizu aka Orion.
Born quietly in the outskirts of Arua, he grew up without much influence from family. Orphaned at the age of three, Orion grew up with his elder brothers through hardship. Hustling has always been the order of the day for him and his siblings.
The Ombacian soldier first came to light during the Arua dance battles. Being the brain behind T-Swagg dance crew together with his loyal friends known by nicknames of Ali and Aganaga, Orion battled on the stage with so many crews across the town in the seemingly intense dance battles. Him and the crew gained recognition from so many fans
After his high school, Orion joined campus and graduated with bachelors’ in Electrical engineering. But before that, he did so many petty jobs around town. In 2016 he had a metallic canteen in which they sold music and ice cream for children. The following year he learnt tailoring and started fitting clothes for clients depending on their measurements.
This young man, being a hustler in 2017 and together with his childhood friend Prince Morrish, they started a company called Orion Designs Uganda which they renamed Orion designs Africa. This company started on a low key. His friend Morrish was at that point a student at Makerere University Business school Arua branch doing bachelors in economics.
These two CEOs started a simple company which later grew in the subsequent years. They started with fitting clothes but their breakthrough came with the invention of kitenge bomber jackets. This was the turning point in this company because it was the first to hit the streets of Arua town. Their mission was to emulate modern designs with Kitenge fabric.
In the same year, they were the first to organize the first ever Kitenge fashion night in Uganda. Though in the beginning they faced challenges, the following years paid greatly. They connected with so many customers and all seemed right. But Orion had another burning desire
Dealing with clothes could not bring him enough income to pay all his bills, save some and take care of his family. He needed another plan. Now Orion is venturing in furniture. In 2018 he did a training with a furniture making company and he thought this could be another venture. Besides Orion designs, he embarked on this journey and currently he makes modern chairs and outdoor furniture. This young man is a definition of “I started from the Bottom but am here”
Let’s learn some lessons from this young man.
